There is a lot of history at this hotel and it is one of our two favorite French Quarter hotels (by that I mean actually located in the quarter, Windsor Court and Ritz are really not in the quarter). Near all the action but also felt "miles"away from the zoo that is Bourbon Street even though it is just 1 block away. We had to drag our bags around the corner to the garage. The king bed was nice but it is nearing retirement as it had a dip on one side. The windows are not floor to ceiling but they are huge. Also it's said to be one of the most haunted places in New Orleans, especially the 14th floor, but I'm happy to report no ghosts seen during our stay. Diana in Logo Shop was extra friendly and told us the history of haunted hotel. There is beautiful large armoire that houses a TV (only about a 37” but it is restricted by size needed to fit in armoire), a beverage cooler, safe, ironing board, iron and two very nice robes. This went pretty smooth and we went to check in. This was not a one time event, it happened all three times we got ice, which brings me to believe that the bugs come out of the ice machine and are not landing in the ice from the room. The special gems include Anita the concierge, Diana the "Hotel Ambassador" ready to share a ghost story or anecdotes about famous past guests, and the lovely lady in the gift shop. When I was going back through them from the beginning of the year and I came across a couple that was all. All the workers seem to really like working here and it shows. We went out to front of hotel to wait but after a few minutes the doorman said valet is in the garage.
