The first, which may seem unrelated, is the word Rephaim. It may be that Ephraim later lost this woodland east of Jordan to Jephthah and the Gileadites (Judg 12:1-15), but that the name stuck. 83, 93), it prob. The ‘Wood of Ephraim’ was mentioned only once in the Bible (2 Samuel 18:6-17).
